Hi! My name is Courtney (she/her), and I am so grateful you are here.
My journey to birth work began a decade ago, when I was pregnant with my first son. Like many others, I went into that pregnancy with only the information I'd been told by other parents in my life: that birth was scary, stressful, painful, and most of all, a means to an end (specifically, a "healthy" baby).

It wasn't until I began attending just the right prenatal yoga class that I was exposed to a different narrative about what birth could be: something beautiful, exciting, and empowering. I immediately started learning everything I could about birth, and that led to me eventually taking my doula training course at the end of 2020!
​
Now, I live in St. Albert with my husband, our four beautiful boys (three of whom I gave birth to) and our big black dog. Our latest addition was just born in September of 2021, so the pregnancy and birth process is still very fresh in my mind!

I am truly passionate about birth and birthers, and I am committed to equipping new parents in the Edmonton Area with all the knowledge they need to advocate for themselves, and have the best possible birth and early parenting experience.
